Etharkum Thuninthavan (2022)
Etharkkum Thunindhavan (transl. Daredevil for Anything), also known under the initialism ET, is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Pandiraj and produced by Sun Pictures. The film stars Suriya, Priyanka Arul Mohan, and Vinay Rai in the lead roles, with many of the supporting characters including Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, Madhusudhan Rao, Hareesh Peradi, Saranya Ponvannan, Devadarshini, M. S. Bhaskar, Soori, Redin Kingsley, Pugazh, Vela Ramamoorthy, Ciby Bhuvana Chandran, Jayaprakash, Ilavarasu, Subbu Panchu, Saran Shakthi, and Tiger Thangadurai in supporting roles. The film was produced by Sun Pictures and also marks Suriya’s third collaboration with them after Ayan (2009) and Singam (2010). The film’s story revolves around how the protagonist, who is a social fighter in the film, will be fighting the crimes against women.
With an official announcement, the film was launched on 15 February 2021, with the attendance of the principal cast and crew members, except Suriya as he was tested positive for COVID-19. Following a brief schedule for 21 days, the team headed to Madurai for filming major sequences during April 2021. An action sequence with a huge crowd was planned to be filmed, but was cancelled due to the second wave of COVID-19. The film’s shooting was resumed on 12 July 2021 following the relaxations of COVID-19 lockdown. Few of the scenes were filmed in Chennai. In mid of July the team headed to Karaikkudi for shooting a 51-day long schedule with crucial sequences and then headed to Courtallam for filming the final schedule. The filming was then wrapped up on October 2021 and also the shooting was completed on 10 November 2021.
Post Production works were completed on December 2021. The film's has music composed by D. Imman, marking his first and maiden collaboration with Suriya, whilst cinematography and editing was handled by R. Rathnavelu and Ruben respectively, while it’s distribution rights was bagged by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies.
The film is scheduled to release theatrically on 10 March 2022 along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.
